how to disable floating app "windows"?

They're driving me insane. Galaxy 22S ultra. Android version 13. Not sure on terminology for this "feature", tried googling.
When an app, especially Messages, opens as a floating window (about half the screen) that can be drug to the bottom where a red Remove option appears. How do I disable this feature please?
