Android auto block volume control

Android audio blocks volume control.
Hi, I'm driving a Mercedes Sprinter 2020 and whenever I connect android audio the volume control gets blocked. I can't change it neither from the vehicle control and from the phone. The only solution I found right now is to switch from android auto to Bluetooth media and then switch back to android audio, bit I have to do that every time I turn on the car. I saw online that many people had the same problem but I couldn't find any working fix.
