Samsung Galaxy S2 camera bug
Post Body

The Galaxy S2 has 3 metering modes defaulted to center weighted.

However if you change the meter mode to either spot or matrix, the label changes but the exposure calculations do not. How to reproduce:

Centered

  • mode -> centered
  • flash -> disabled
  • find a dark room with a lamp turned on
  • put lamp at center, notice how everything else is black
  • this is correct behavior

Matrix

  • mode -> matrix
  • flash -> disabled
  • put lamp at center
  • screen should be metered a couple stops higher, but instead you get the same results as above

Spot

  • mode -> spot
  • flash -> disabled
  • put lamp at center
  • focus on one of the dark corners
  • screen should be washed out with the corner exposed correctly, but instead you get the same results as centered mode
