Bootlooping Incredible. Damaged Recovery (I believe)
Post Body

Hey folks, wondering if you know any tricks I don't to get my Incredible back up and running. So, it was rooted using the unrevoked3 method. Everything worked fine for a long time. I actually switched carriers, so now I'm running a Nexus S, but I wanted to get this one ready to sell when it started bootlooping.

If I try to boot it up, it gets to the white "htc incredible" screen, then vibrates, turns off and then goes back to that screen. Repeat. So, if I hold down power and volume down, I can get into the bootloader. But, if I try to select recovery, it brings up the recovery screen for half a second, then goes to that same white flash screen. Then the bootloop cycle begins.

Here is what I have tried so far. I tried the instructions on this site trying to do the whole PB31IMG thing, place it on the root of my SD, boot into hboot, it looks for files, says it finds none (this screen is fast, not sure what it says here). So then I tried the second method. The RUU ran properly, said it was finished, tried to boot up, same problem. Bootloops.

So then I followed the directions on this site in order to manually install a recovery image, cause I'm thinking maybe mine is borked. However, after trying to flash the recovery image I get a FAILED <remote: not allowed> and so now I am sad.

Theory, perhaps when I installed via the RUU method I accidently removed some of my root privileges? I still show I have s-off in the bootloader, but eh? I really don't know. Any thoughts would be very appreciated. Thanks.
