Two same phones, same rom, one phone is incompatible with most apps, why?

phone: LG Optimus S
rom: Reborn ROM v2.2.4
android: 2.2.2 Froyo

Everything is fine with my phone. My dad just got a new LG Optimus S and I rooted and flashed the same ROM.

One annoying thing that I can't fix is that apps that are compatible with my phone are incompatible with this (the download button is missing in market, market.android.com reports phone incompatibility). The most blatant example of this is he can install Angry Birds Rio but not Angry Birds original.

Even for some apps where the requirement is Android v1.6 (e.g. Quick Pic, Contacts Clean-Up) he cannot install them due to device incompatibility.

This is a fresh wipe and install. I've gone and deleted /sdcard/.android-secure in the hopes that would solve the issue but is hasn't. Any other ideas?

Edit

Wiping data/cache/Dalvik-cache solved the issue.
