Great Ice Sheet: Where Dreams Come True*
Post Body

It seems weird that the "If you build it then they will come" idiom is actually true, but now we have almost 10 people here. I'm pleasantly surprised.

It's still very much a frontier, meaning that most people go out elsewhere for their houses, but there are still some of us with our homes on the actual Ice Sheet proper.

I'd like to put up a wall to protect the Ice Sheet from monsters that spawn out on the land, since I'm always having to fight creepers and spiders just walking around town. Normally I wouldn't mind so much, but whenever I'm on, something about my connection to the server means what I do doesn't register immediately. Fighting is not very easy. Plus it makes for bad tourism business.

I also wanted to throw out that we were joking that GIS was becoming a state. I don't know if it'll do that, but if it does then so be it. I think if we all organize with our own self-interests in mind, then GIS being an official state won't be bad. Until then it's an AnCap frontier.

I think it's also been decided that the Sky Road will be made out of cobblestone half-blocks rather than glass, so if anyone is building connecting pillars or wanting to volunteer, keep in mind the material change.

If anyone wants to join us out on the Ice Sheet, feel free to do so. We're slowly building up a society, and we even house one of the LibSoc embassies, so we're not even all that backward.

Come hug a creeper out on Great Ice Sheet! It makes for a fun family vacation!
