1 year old Anatolian shepherd/great Pyrenees mix just adopted
Post Body

Hello everyone! I am new here. My fiancé and I just adopted a wonderful and very sweet Anatolian shepherd/great Pyrenees mix one year old. He is an amazing dog and gets along just fine with other dogs. We think he has had a rough history in the past, therefore has some trust issues, and is very skittish with certain things. He has finally become more comfortable with me. He loves women, but has trouble trusting other guys. He is a gentle and sweet boy. He’s very stubborn though. Sometimes he likes to go on walks but most of the time he will just sit there and will not move, and I have to end up picking him up. He also will sometimes get in the car and out of the car. Today, though, he sat in the car with my fiancé for about an hour or so, just staring at her as she was trying to get him out. He was not food motivated or anything, and just stared at her the entire time it would not get out. I have read a lot on these breeds and I have learned that they are known to be very stubborn and do not live to please their owner and like to do their own things at times. Has anyone dealt with this with their dog? He has gotten a lot better since we brought him home five days ago but is still a very stubborn dog when it comes to certain things. My mom is a dog trainer and is going to be helping us with training him. He seems to open up a lot around other dogs. If any of you all have some input or good advice. It would be much appreciated! I will post a picture of him for you all to see. His name is Max :-)
