British Anarchists? Is their a movement and if so what is the end goal?
Post Body

I have a few questions relating to the existence as anarchism as an ideology in Britain. Is their a movement and what does it aim to achieve, as well as a few further questions. I will state that I'm not an anarchist, I'm just curious about the ideology & how its supporters view it - in a British/English context.

Is there a set end goal(s) for British Anarchism, perhaps Western/European anarchism as a broader movement. My question(s) aren't limited to British/English anarchists but predominantly I'd like to focus on anarchy/hypothetical anarchy in the English situation. Is their a consensus on an end goal or a direction towards an end goal within the movement?

Anarchism is anti-government which makes it incompatible (?) with any of the current major political parties, as they're political parties that are heavily invested in working within the current parliamentary system - additionally most UK voters are invested in that system. Anarchism is agreed upon as being towards the far side of the political spectrum, that would certainly place anarchism under political extremism - historically unpopular in Britain (be that either side of the political spectrum). Anarchism as an ideology is typically on the far left of the political spectrum, the labour party being by far the dominant left wing party in the UK so it has the support of a majority of the left wing/left leaning British voters. Support for the labour party means majority of the left wing/left leaning British electorate are invested in the system, rather then against that system.

How does anarchy as a ideology fit into the current British system and what do anarchists/(ancoms) think about this. Do supporters aim to take anarchism mainstream as a political movement or would anarchism continue as largely a fringe/minority movement, an ideology ultimately without much popular support, ideological movement rather then an action movement? Would anarchism coexist with current political system (would it be able to so so?), would it potentially aim to do that in a  separate, new society (commune(s)?) & would anarchists be able to do so while rejecting the authority of the government. Finally would anarchists actively move to challenge the current system, I feel like that would be extremely unlikely, with the consequences of such a move being very severe but wondering if that's a goal. Wondering since anarchy rejects government, how would it go about doing so?
