I've been reading about the Iroquois longhouses and to me it seems like many nearby units of group housing numbering from 50-100 people where one can easily change "micro-village" often tend to promote the greatest amount of human happiness and can minimize abusive power structures especially among children.
Obviously while this is probably a good idea this isn't for everyone but still I'm curious: What types of architecture promote this type of familial unit irl that aren't low-density and using modern materials and architectural styles?
Regular modern apartments compartmentalize people into micro urban fiefdoms that isolate and deprive people of human contact regardless of density (I mean just look at Japanese society). Soviet "commie blocs" seem to sort of fit this bill by creating micro-cities but they still regiment people into generational or nuclear family units within the micro-city, I'm looking for a type of housing that at its lowest level liquidates such familial types and creates a village/tribal familial unit, just in a modern context. Any ideas?
