Konica C35 AF Flash Stopped Working

Hi everyone. My Konica C35 AF developed a weird issue. I used this less than 2 weeks ago and it didn’t have any issues, now the flash has stopped working. When I inserted batteries inside the camera, I heard the flash charging sound (the sound can only be heard for a few seconds) and the pilot lamp even lit up (pls check the second pic), but when I pressed the shutter button, the flash didn’t work. What could be the problem here and is there anything I can do to fix it? I’ve already used 2 different pairs of AA batteries but both pairs aren’t fresh, I did test the batts on a different camera though and the flash of that camera worked. Should I buy a fresh pair of batts? Any help will be much appreciated. Thank you in advance.
