Olympus OM30 won’t shut off

I bought an Olympus OM30 fairly recently and it came with a broken mode switch, I bought a new one and replaced it and it started working fine (it wouldn’t change from Auto mode before) but now the camera won’t turn off and when it is in the off position it still works in auto (the rest of the modes work fine like bulb and manual) does anyone have any idea on how to fix this?
