What to do with a FM3a with a bad meter

Howdy guys,
I took a gamble and bought an FM3a with a bad meter about a year and a half ago. After multiple attempts of taking it from shop to shop, trying to find a spare meter or a spare body to take a meter from a broken FM3a, I’m just about to throw in the towel. Should I perhaps continue to hold out or sell it and do what I should’ve done and buy a FM2, or keep it around and buy an external meter? I’m not really attached to the camera but it is quite cool.
