Opticfilm 8200 VS DSLR Scanning?

Post Body

I don’t see any direct comparisons between the two.

Plustek Opticfilm 8200 apparently has a optimal resolution of 3200dpi.

Using a site that converts dpi to megapixel count, we can see what the megapixel equivalent of the scanner is.

Searching online, 135 film has a aspect ratio of 3:2 and diagonal length of 1.701 inches.

The calculator gives 13.67 megapixels💀

I personally somehow feel this is flawed.

Before I sold my Fuji x-a3 (24MP) I tested some dslr scans with a 95 cri light source and a FD Macro 50mm with extension tubes. They looked more or less about the same, with the lens losing sharpness in the corners.

So the opticfilm scanner has to be atleast 24MP equivalent?

I personally feel this logic is flawed. Does anyone have a better comparison between the two or is smarter than me to elaborate on the MP equivalent of 3200 dpi scanner?
