Men with chronic anal fissures: I believe Cialis/Tadalafil is the key!

I am a gay man who engages in anal sex and I have had a chronic fissure for about 7 years now. Last year I started taking roughly 2.5mg/5mg Tadalafil every other day but now most days because I wanted tougher erections and also found it’s good for general penis health. After a few weeks I noticed that I completely stopped bleeding when having a bowel movement. Before this, although I had been taking fibre and drinking lots of water for a while, this has helped but even the slightest large BM would cause a re-tear.

I also noticed that when receiving anal sex, it felt crazily easier for the penis to enter and I wouldn’t have to tap out because of the pain. I was so confused as to why this was happening but then realised I had just started taking Tadalafil.

It’s been 5 months now and I haven’t had a single re-tear. This is definitely the longest time I’ve gone without it reopening. I’ve also had a lot of sex and larger BMs in this time, but still upping my fibre and water intake.

I also found this study which confirmed my results. This study talks about Sildenafil which is viagra but both Sildenafil and Tadalafil are PDE5 inhibitors. Tadalafil is just a much lighter version and lasts in the body longer which is great!

PSA men who engage in anal sex or use poppers for whatever reason, DO NOT use poppers with this drug it is extremely dangerous!

Sorry women Tadalafil/Cialis is for men only. I’m not sure of the effects it had on women.

Hope this helps! :)

Edit: At the bottom of the linked study above, it states this - “Conclusion: Sildenafil relaxes the augmented tone of human IAS in vitro. These results support the potential use of this PDE5 inhibitor in the treatment of chronic anal fissure.”
