First trip on Zephyr - Sacramento to Chicago

Post Body

I'm taking my first train trip from Sac to Chicago. I was gonna get a roomette roundtrip, but it would cost me closer to 2500 (YIKES) vs 400ish for coach... i would rather save money for Chicago. But it is a 50 hour trip, so I know it's gonna be a little more difficult. But I don't know what to expect.

I'm taking a train because I really want a stress free travel to a big city I've never been, flying is sometimes the worst, and I have absolutely no interest in driving myself, I'd blow my brains out first.

I'm looking for advice on being prepared, food, drinks, sleep, entertainment, etc.

I really like to have a coffee in the morning, latte or espresso if possible, not sure if I'm gonna be disappointed with their coffee or feel ripped off.

I love reading and staring at the view, but I do want to catch up on some shows on Hulu/Netflix etc. Should I download episodes, or is the internet/cell signal enough?

Advice for sleeping in a seat overnight? I have a neck pillow and earplugs, no sleepmask. I have a travel blanket.

What should I expect as far as meeting new people? I'm hoping to run into people my age (26M)

Also does Zephyr offer business class? Is it worth considering that?

I'm a little nervous but excited. I feel like I don't really have a choice in avoiding expensive food, where else am I gonna go? lol But I don't mind indulging for my vacation a little.

I appreciate any advice! :)
