I’m burn out. I may be able to travel solo for a week. Last time i visited Amsterdam i stayed in the city centre and it wasn’t very pleasant in the summer when its too crowded. It was awkward when I couldn’t smoke in my hotel or outside as it wasn’t secluded. I am choosing Amsterdam again as i can smoke legally there.
Anyway do you recommend particular nice areas or hotels to stay that would allow me to recover a little from my mental and emotional exhaustion? Of course I’ll visit the city centre to get what i need from the coffee shops 🌱 , but besides that i want to avoid the crowds and enjoy nature. Which areas would be suitable to stay in and allow me to commute quickly to the coffee shops (and restaurants and clothing stores) if i needed?
I agree with the centre being too busy but if you go too far out you’ll just waste all your time travelling in. Hotel2Stay is i think 20 mins from the centre by tram, they’ve got an dedicated smoking lounge on the terrace, meaning you don’t have to leave the hotel and it’s got shelter if it rains. It’s my fav as the area it’s in is really quiet!!
