How is your experience as an expat working in Amsterdam?

Are you often confused as a tourist? Is there a lot of things to do in Amsterdam compared to the smaller cities like Eindhoven? What sort of pros did you face when moving here ? What were the cons? What percentage of the population are expats?
I am asking cause I have been going back and forth about moving there from Eindhoven. Obviously I can go for a few days but I won't see the real issues till I lived there for a while.
