2 Amplifi Set - Turn off Wifi on Router

I have a amplifi router located where the modem is my parents house. Due to the location it doesnt give good wifi signal throughout the house. I have a spare Amplifi HD that I can wire and keep outside which will give it a much needed boost.
Is it possible to turn of wifi on the router and use the second router as the wifi-ap and switch ?
