Why do you need to "Enroll" to offers?
Post Body

Am I the only one who thinks it's a big Pain in Diaz to have to sign up for special offers from merchants on the Amex site? Want 10% off Fedex? Sign up! Want $120 in wireless credits? Enroll now! Why???

How about you automatically enroll me in every damn promotion you have on offer? It almost makes me think they don't really want us to take advantage of these deals. Couldn't be, right? /s

Today I found one: Get 5 Membership Rewards points per eligible dollar spent on Amazon. Up to 1,000 points.

There are 100 more. Don't have the time to review them all.

I suppose. There's already a link with something like dell.com/amex and I am sure there is other coding to indicate where traffic is coming from. I'm just imagining that 80% or more of cardholders are not checking these offers regularly, so if these companies' end game is to make more money the sign-up is a major impediment.

oh, there's a fee?

Yes, kinda. But if I'm in the market for a fishing pole and I go to Dick's website, and they say hey today you can get an additional 15% off, that's a little different. I'm already there. Amex expects me to comb through 100 offers and subscribe to those I think might be of some use to me sometime in next 30-90 days, then venture over to the website or visit the restaurant, etc.
