Þis is a sub-redit for pɛopal who want to particiapate in the proces of moving American-Engli$ over to just being "American", ful-stop. Þe two languages have already become semi-uninteligible to ea¢ other, now it's time to fini$ the proces, þe right way; ON PURPOSE and with a degrɛ of control and meþodology so þat American is an IMPROVEMENT on it's forbær, not worse.
Þhe way in ₩i¢ we go-about þat is writing/posting stories and other content here IN "American", ₩i¢, amongst the oþer ¢anges you've doubtles noticed by now, has a re-expanded and re-developed alfabet þat has more leters so every leter is 1 sound and every sound is 1 leter, meaning þat þe pronunciation guide is inherent to reading þe word itself.
Yes, wɛ ARE "reinventing þe ₩ɛl" becuhz ₩ile "Bell's Visible Spea¢" already does þat to some degrɛ, its also stupidly confusing to try to RED it compared with the engli$, latin, norse, grɛk or ru$ian alphabets al of ₩ich we wil be stɛling leters from to ful the "American" alphabet's asension: becuhz that's how engli$ works, they run-awf with bits of other languages to add to our own. We're not hɛr to ¢ange that, just to FINI$ the proces.
We will also be discussing the specifics and direction of the newly-emergent language's structures: so some ground-rules for that need to be made:
1: In their spoken form, at least at first: American and English should be very similar; but the written form, should NOT. Absolutely consisstent phonetic pronunciations is a major goal. 2: The divergence should stem from "Americanisms" being core parts of the language: "divergent-yet-easily-inteligible-by-americans" american pronuciations of words will be prefered as the basis of the spelling instead of those equaly easy to understand by brittish people AND Americans. 3: Additional letters of the alphabet should be drawn from ACTUAL LANGUAGES, be simple to write without "squigaly bits", and have either an identical meaning to the origional, or be a "logical reinterpretation" such as Φ being used for the same combination sound as the letters "I O" = "io" are already used for, since that's what the symbol IS when written. 4: this IS NOT "Literaly 1984"/"Newspeak" it's the oposite, the expanding and diversification of one language into TWO, instead of the reducing of one that already exists: to claim otherwise is a bannable offense since that kind of talk stifles creativity and expansion of a language by it's inherent nature and ipso-facto is antithetical to the purpose of this sub-reddit.
Join me in this, the very-last act of the American Revolution, and our final completion of the seperation from England.
