As the title says, I am over 35 and I have multiple sclerosis. I’m healthy despite it and have no functional limitations. I work full time and stay active. I did a treatment a few years back that has put my disease into complete remission. No telling how long, but the data is pretty promising on folks staying relapse free for many years, over a decade in some cases. Even before that MS in my case was quite mild and I had very little ongoing medical needs from it.
I work in tech so I’ve considered some type of skilled migrant pathway. Unfortunately a LOT of places won’t allow it because of my chronic condition. I think the Netherlands is my only European option.
Does anyone have any suggestions on pathways to expat I can look at that might open me to more options? Canada restricts me due to potential medical expenditures. It’s frustrating, as currently I do not have any medication requirements at all due to the treatment I did but I don’t think that matters as MS drugs when needed are quite expensive.
Despite being healthy I do need to stick with countries that have good medical infrastructure and places that will have the resources and knowledge to treat MS.
I’ve looked at birthright pathways but my grandparents, to my knowledge were born in the US.
Any thoughts?
