Which processor/mobo would you recommend here in 2020?

So I'm looking to upgrade my current rig, I currently have the phenom II X4 965 processor and was looking at the Ryzen 7 2700x, but thought I'd ask here first. I'm looking to do a complete AMD build on a somewhat budget. I keep getting purple screened, so a gpu may be in order as well, I'm just not sure what would be the best right now, I would like to keep it under $350 for the cpu/mobo combo, and any gpu recommendations that are a reasonable price given the price range of the cpu and mobo would be greatly appreciated.
