I'm guessing that product weight varies a bit so one unit could be 5.8kg and another 6.2kg, this is especially true if its hand made products or hand packed with like different amounts of packing paper etc. So say you send in 100 such units. how would amazon charge shipping?
I called them and they said when a new product comes in, in bulk, they measure one and whatever it weighs is what's assigned to all the rest of the units.
I ask this because I am selling salt lamps. And they are always sold in weight ranges. Like 1-2kg, 2-3kg, 3-5kg, etc... Now, I don't mind if they charge the upper limit on each one so they charge me for 5kg for 3-5kg even if it's 4kg actual weight. But I just dont want the products to be rejected once I send them in because of this.
I asked them over phone and haven't gotten any clear answer except, create a unique FNSKU for each product. So then instead of my 6 skus or so I will have like 20! And id have to relabel and go through 1000s of units, furthermore, nobody buys salt lamps like this. They are always sold in the weight categories as mentioned above.
Any idea as to what can be done?
