2 questions: Pallet requirements & who should satisfy them + Not finding individual plan when signing up for a seller account
Post Body

Edit: I have solved my second question. For anyone passing through the same issue as I, the answer is simple. Amazon prefers that people join the professional plan when they're still newbies because it earns them more money, so they hide the individual plan, and the signup button takes you exclusively to the professional plan. To register for the individual plan, you'll need to find a page that compares both plans and then click the white button under the individual plan (at the bottom of the page). This is the only page I found where you can signup for the right plan. Here it is: https://sell.amazon.ca/pricing?ref_=sdca_soa_plans_n#selling-plans .

Watch out because if, like me, you start registering for the professional plan thinking the choice of the plan comes later, it might be hard to change during registration, and you might be forced to pay for professional immediately, but I read somewhere that if you immediately downgrade to individual and apply for a reimbursement, they'll reimburse (as long as you didn't use your account for any purpose whatsoever, especially creating a listing).

--------------------------------------------------

Hi, first time trying to ship from abroad, so please go easy on me :-) Here are my 2 questions:

1- Pallet requirements question:

Based on my research, the following requirements are needed in a shipment being sent to an Amazon fulfillment center (please let me know if I missed a requirement):

Pallet material: treated IPPC ISPM-15 compliant wood or high-quality plywood

Pallet size: 48 inch x 40 inch (1200 mm x 1000 mm) (and 72 inch max height)

Type of the pallet: four-way access

Pallet Quality: GMA Standard B Grade

Based on my communication with some potential suppliers, it seems most of them pack their products in boxes that do not conform to the requirements (different sizes - usually significantly smaller than the required size, different grade, etc.). Should I ask them to pack their products only in pallets that conform to the requirements (and if so, how much more should I pay them for that? I don't want to ask them to do additional work without offering additional money but I don't want to pay more than it actually costs either). Or is it the freight company I should ask to take care of this? Or does Amazon itself offer a service to pack boxes after they arrive in larger pallets? I considered doing it myself, but it makes no sense with bulk orders that need to be sent to Amazon directly.

Edit: a supplier I've been talking to and will probably buy from informed me that my order will come in 4 boxes, each 45cm x 45cm x 45cm. That's much smaller than a full pallet, so I'm not sure what the course of action should be.

2- Individual plan question:

I've been trying to create an Amazon seller account. Since I only need to try it for now and will not be selling a lot at first, I want to start an individual account. However, when signing up, in the billing page, it says:

"Monthly Subscription FeeYou will be charged a Professional selling subscription fee of 29.99 CAD for the first month. You will continue to be charged this fee each month if you have active listings. If you do not have active listings, you will not be charged a subscription fee in that month. If you expand to sell in other stores, you will pay the equivalent of 39.99 USD per month, split proportionately across each country or region in which you have an active listing and charged separately in each local currency. You can downgrade at any time. For more information, see this page."

I can't find a place to switch to an individual account, and I'm afraid entering my payment info would cause an automatic subscription that I don't need now. Is there something I'm missing? I contacted support around 40 hours ago but still haven't heard back.

Thank you for your help!
