I’m a current AM at a RELO… started in March of this year and absolutely love and care about my AAs, but also have a wife and a son that just turned 3 at home. She’s a nurse so she works a lot and random hours while I work 50 hours per week and on night shift. I don’t necessarily hate the job, but Amazon’s expectations on certain things they ask of me do not match with my values when it comes to my AAs, and my work life balance is absolutely horrible currently. I think I have seen my wife for about 30 min total in the last 7 days due to both of our shifts. My physical and mental health has noticeably declined since I started this job, and when I got an accommodation for my insomnia, HR said they do not switch shifts for such issues and just gave intermittent leave. While this is fine with me, whenever I use it I am always judged and get negative attitudes from my manager as well as my fellow AMs. I have had countless meetings with upper management and made it clear that I am unhappy in my current position and considering leaving, with them being understanding and giving possible moves that might fit my skills and passions better, but no measurable actions from these meetings. In this situation currently I would have no issues leaving except for having to pay back my sign on bonus and losing the income until I could find something else. Also, my wife’s family continues to say that I need to have something else lined up if I quit and I believe my parents feel the same way (along with myself, but it’s been difficult to find something that is meaningful and something I’m passionate about and not just going to hate right away). Any advice or thoughts are really appreciated
