I am the top packer on my BHN shift. I sprained my wrist in almost 2 weeks ago on Oct 10. Amcare guy thinks it's not a big issue so he sends me back. Long story short, my rates are in the gutter so manager sends me back to Amcare, but I just go home for the day and skipped out on Tuesday as well and covered it with a doctor's note, hoping this wrist won't be an issue by then.
When I came back on Wednesday, Amcare says I'm being given "an accommodation" and told to go do single slam at pack or SmartPack. Rates are still in the gutter. The other packers there and the waterspider are telling me that I should just go home and apply for a medical LOA and not deal with this BS. I do it for 2.5 days but the faster I go the worse it gets.
I could do problem solve or be a process guide since I was trained for both, but on our shift, those roles are reserved only for the PA's lazy friends (a story for another time). So I go home at midnight on Friday, Oct 16, and Amcare says not to come back until I get an RFI form filled out. HR tells me to email the Canada LOA team about a medical LOA.
The next day I emailed the LOA team asking for a 1 week medical LOA. I go to a walk-in clinic since my doctor is not available to get this RFI form filled out. Long story short, the doc charged $40 and wrote down that I'm good to go back to work. Basically a waste of $40. The next day I go to my family doctor and he gave a note for 1 week and said he can extend it if it's not getting better. He also said the RFI doesn't matter. The LOA team responded and said this is a local HR matter. Problem is, local HR never responds to their emails, and I last spoke with them in person, and when I recently called them, they said this is a matter for the LOA team.
I am not sitting at 12 attendance points because they haven't processed my first sick note, and I missed an entire week.
What do I do?
