Erc drama

I have surgery on the 9th of June and I need to be excuse on the 7th for a pre op appointment and I wouldn't be back until the 28th if June.
I have submitted my application on the 5/10. Still haven't heard anything. I called erc and they told me that they had to create a new case because they can't send me paperwork with the old case.
Still havent heard any updates.
By the time my surgery is coming and I still haven't received any updates from ERC, can I still go without losing my job?
