I have been a driver for a month. Today was my last day. On my first day I was given a nursery route, 80 stops with 180 packages. Ended up doing a rescue after my route bc I completed my route fairly quick and the driver I rescued gave me 20 stops when I was supposed to take 10 stops. I had no problem bc I was new and needed some hours at the time bc of a bind I was in. After my first day my route went straight to a standard 150 stops with 270 packages (New Jersey is where I delivered, Hasidic Jewish neighborhoods specifically)I had no problem doing those routes and I figured out a way to get everything done quickly. In the end I would have to do rescues where I’m taking half of everyone’s load. In the end I’m doing180-190 stops with 300 packages. Never once being a new guy did I have to be rescued, there has been plenty of times where I needed it but it never showed. I’m happy to be leaving the endless loop of good workers being punished with more work.
