My dad died and I got fired
Post Body

My dad got sick so I drove the 5 hours to be with him. He passed away. When I first left I contacted my site manager. She told me to apply for LOA. I did. Twice. Denied both times. Didn't qualify for bereavement. I did everything my site manager told me to do. I missed a total 6 shifts and didn't have enough time off to cover it. So I was fired.

I just can't wrap my head around being denied any leave and then being fired for it. Like was I just supposed to say sorry dad I can't be with you on your death bed or go to your funeral because I have to work...???

Sorry venting.
