Transferring from SSD dispatch to a DS
Post Body

Hi, I just started at an SSD facility two weeks ago working in dispatch doing buffering and also staging. Despite being an overweight, out of shape woman, I have been able to keep up, and I actually kind of enjoy the work. Unfortunately the facility is an hour away from where I live and it is eating up my gas money. I’ve read that you can’t request a transfer until after 30 days of employment, and it can be difficult to get one anyway. Just for kicks I tried putting in on the app for the DS in my city two days ago, and to my surprise it was approved this morning! My new schedule starts in two weeks and I’ve been looking through this sub for more info on what the shift and job duties are like, but I was wondering if anyone could give me a rundown of the differences between dispatch at an SSD and the shift I’m moving to at the DS. Thanks!
