Desert Claim Issue with the Golden Horde
Post Body

Earlier today the Golden Horde created a post announcing their return to the server. While it's not official, the announcement was made in conjunction with the formation of AGE as announced by Wyck.

Part of Golden Horde's return post included changes to their claims, which can be seen here. Namely, their borders were extended to the edge of the desert to the east and flattened in alignment with the Federation above them. Problematically, the extended claim includes our original home in the desert. I've messaged the new leader of Golden Horde about it. Here's the conversation:

  • Myself: I saw that your new claims for the Golden Horde include Amani Kingdom's southern territory which can be seen here. The area has significant historical meaning to us as the first settlement of our nation is still used quite frequently. As you requested in your post, this message is to clarify our claim is still active so that corrections can be made. --TheGreatUniter

  • tacticalpie: ok, there is only so much gold there :)

  • Myself: Lol, it's been mined out since probably the beginning of the map. I just wanted to make sure you guys weren't just taking our land. If you could edit your map or at least make an official announcement that'd be great.

  • tacticalpie: Please make land marks to signal your claims by 03/01/2015 so we know where to mark. If you don't fill the time I'll assume the area has been abandoned.

  • Myself: Well that seems unfair considering our claim long predates your own. Nonetheless, I'll go down and do so in the near future.

  • tacticalpie: will do.

I must say I'm less than pleased with this situation. I don't really care if the members of AGE want to try and create a monopoly over gold. What does bother me is how a nation that has been inactive for some time has now been resurrected in blatant coordination with other AGE territorial changes just decides to claim over one of the oldest and long running nations on the map. Not only that, we're then told that clarifying our long standing claim is not enough, but that the burden of proof is on us to prove it exists and must be confirmed by physical markers on the ground. This is nothing less than a slap to the face, especially considering the Golden Horde's land claim is not for practical use but just a cheap land grab for gold, as made evident by tacticalpie himself in our exchange of messages. For now I'll go south to mark our borders, however this situation will certainly be dealt with further.

While this is certainly angering and problematic, there is no reason for this to become more than a minor issue. Trade with the members of AGE is welcome and we will continue to pursue the best of relations with everyone. While any anger over this situation is understandable, I don't want to see any of Amani's citizens trying to use this to stir up trouble. It is an internal issue between ourselves and another nation and we will resolve it ourselves. To be clear, this will not result in negative relations or war of any kind.
