I noticed that our cows had all been killed or something. I went out, got new ones, and have spent the afternoon rebuilding the population. I also went beyond that and established other pens so that we can mass produce steak/leather and are less likely to lose all our cows to grief.

Today, I also made a deal with the Golden Horde. Since they live in the desert they are unable to produce much food and starvation is a problem for them. After short deliberations I arranged a deal where we can sell them steak at a rate of 1 diamond per 3 stacks of steak, although deliveries and pickups should be at least a single chest worth or more. This said, I would like to ask that everyone please, please do not eat the steak. We have plenty of alternative foods and this deal is part of a bigger plan for Amani's future.
