AITK for not letting my roommate use my new bike ?

Post Body

I'm sharing a room with a friend of mine. I had a scooty I brought from back home to this city. Since we lived together, i had given him one key and one stayed with me. We shared the petrol expenses.

Now recently I've bought my own bike and transferred the scooty back home, including both the keys. I didnt give him the second pair of keys to my bike (obviously) and never told him that he could use it to run some errands.

One day he was going to meet his GF at around 11PM and asked me if he could take the bike, I gave him the keys thinking nothing of it.

A few days later, he asked for the bike again, to go meet his GF. This time it seemed a lil sus, but I didnt refuse. After coming back, he told me he was thinking of starting gym with his GF from the next morning. Before I could say anything, he told me he'll jog to the gym every morning since that will make up for a good warm up.

Next morning when I wake up, I see that he's taken the bike with him to the gym. When he came back, I confronted him regaring the jog, he started making excuses. I thought this would be enough to let him know that I'm not okay to let him use my bike.

Next morning he took it again. I was furious this time. I didnt say anything but I know he was able to sense the anger on my face.

The next morning, when he was going to the gym, I was partly awake and when he was taking the keys, I told him to not take the bike. He said okay and went to the gym anyways.

Later, on a sutta break, I told him that this new bike is very dear to me and I dont like anyone else using it. He told me that he understands.

He has never used my bike since then, which I really like. But did I do the right thing ? Or is it no big deal sharing your bike with your roommate ?
