I've recently broke up with my boyfriend of almost 3 years. The breakup has been very amicable and respectful.
He lives with a close friend of mine.
He has asked me to not message him for a few days so he can have time to process it without messaging making it too confusing. I totally understand that and although I really miss him and want to ask how he is getting on I know it is wrong to disrespect his privacy and his wishes to have some time on his own. Its killing me not speaking to him and we both know each other really well and I know that he will be aware how it is making me feel to not be in contact with him.
The issue is I've left my tablet at his flat and I really want it back. I was speaking to my friend that lives with him and she has offered to bring me stuff from their flat that I need but I rejected because I didnt know how my ex would react.
I'm worried he will take me asking my friend to bring me stuff as a sign that I'm being hostile. I know that once he is ready to speak to me again that'll I'll be able to get my stuff back drama free. Part of me feels like I should wait until he is ready.
if I message him:
Hey I know u need time and space and I respect that but I'm just letting u know our friend is going to bring me my tablet down. Hope your doing well. Take care x
Then maybe he will understand it's not to be disrespectful it's just a friend doing me a favour. I'm also worried that if I do this he will see it as a ploy to get him to speak to me before he is ready.
I just want to respect his space but I also really need it back soon and dont know how long he will take to be ready to talk.
