One of my (32F) friends (35F) has issues with her partner, and the past week it's just getting a lot. They discovered an insecurity of her last week and now she just keeps spiraling over little things. I've spend hours on the phone with her (we live on different continents) and I have received dozens of screenshots of their conversations to analyze.
I know she has trust issues and that if I tell her that it's becoming too much she will have difficulties with opening up in the future. I'm also one of her few friends she can talk with regarding her relationship due to her culture.
Right now I'm in the process of decreasing my antidepressants and switching to different medications. The withdrawal and side effect symptoms are pretty intense and with this on top it's just getting too much.
Would I be an asshole if I tell her I need a break?
