AITA for calling out a lie and then not appreciating it was apparently to cheer me up?
Post Body

Friend claimed he found a fried chicken head in his food (if you google you’ll find it was actually a girl in the UK at a KFC) I asked him where and he claimed it was a mom and pop shop he didn’t remember the name of. I confronted him by sending him screenshots of the google results with the exact same pic. He claimed the lie was to cheer me up and ask if I was still thinking about my problems. I said no I’m even more pissed off and I don’t want to be your friend anymore because I HATE LIARS.

Did I fly off the handle? Should I apologize? Was I right to get upset? Was he just trying to be nice?

(Context: Monday: I got fired from work Tuesday: ER visit Wednesday: stomach flu (still sick) Thursday: lost my dear baby axolotls due to my illness)
