UPDATE: Ok y'all, I went and got him some camping gear from one of the local non profits, and told him to think about where he wants to set up and that I'd help him set it up. They hella hooked him up too, a 3 person tent, cot, camp mat, tarp, pillow, and blankets. Plus doggo food for the pup. I let him know that tonight (1/3) is his last night in the van. Having been a homeless person, I didn't want to make him leave with absolutely nowhere to go, especially in the rain. So I recently got housing a couple months ago, and I have my camper van still. A friend of mine and his service dog were evicted a couple days ago, and I agreed to let him stay in my van for a few days while he figured something out. We already have issues. Firstly, it kind of feels like he's trying to plan to stay more long-term already, and this is my private van I like to hang out with my friends there since I can't have them in my shared house due to covid, but the place is a mess and it's only been two days. I also feel like I'm using the word friend to lightly, more of an acquaintance that I've obviously met in person but most of our interaction has been over Facebook. Another thing, I made it very clear that I don't like cigarette smoke and I don't want somebody smoking in my van, the smell gives me a headache and makes me feel like I have to puke. I'm not sure how dumb he thinks I am, but every morning I come in my van and it smells straight like cigarette smoke. Also, I know he's doing other drugs in my van and that definitely a huge f****** no from me. I'm 420 friendly, smoke 🌲🌲🌲 all you want, but when I get into my van and see burnt aluminum foil that's it for me. My big worry is that it's raining and I don't want his dog to have to be out in this weather. And he does pitch for gas and he's bought me food a couple times, it's really hard for me cuz I'm not the type of person to put somebody back out on the streets. This is just getting too much for me and it's only been two days.So would I be the a****** for telling him that he has to leave? Or at least giving him an actual time limit to figure something else out?
