AITA for not moving in even though I promised to?

Hey, little backstory to my current situation. At the beggining of August my classmate from uni (which whom I haven't really talked much before) approached me, if I'm not looking for a flat to rent since she will be moving out from hers. As she described it it sounded really good (city center, reasonable price, etc.). I went to see the place and apart from she being messy as hell the flat had a really good potential to look really nice with a bit of love. Same day I told her I want it and I spend another 2 weeks asking if she managed to speak to a landlord so we can sort things out. She wanted me to move in in September so she wouldn't have to pay the 2 months notice. I had no problem with that and thought it would be nice to help her because so is apparently starting a new business. I was supposed to go on a vacation the last week of August so I tried to rush her to sort things out before my leave (it has been already 3 weeks of me trying to make it happen). Three days before my leave she finally aranged the meeting with the landlord (or as I thought). It was one of the heat wave days, we met at a vinery where she works part time and she offered me a glass on a house and I thought "oh nice". Then she proceeds to tell me that her landlord is on vacation so we wouldn't be able to sign the contract before 1st of Septemper and she explained to me that we can sign a lease agreement between me and her and sort out things with a landord after they came back. It was kinda weird but I didn't thought much of it at the time and me being stupid I signed it at a spot. Apart from other stuff this agreement stated that I need to pay her a deposit, one month rent and price of furniture on spot. I didn't pay anything right away and I started to have second thoughts about it. My lawyer friend told me that the whole thing is weird mainly because landlors usually forbid tennants to rent the flat on their name. With a little bit of digging I found out the phone number to the landlord and they had no idea that she wanted to terminate her lease and they told me that if she wanted to rent me the flat it would be a serious breach of a lease (they could potentionally terminate her lease and they would take her deposit). I covered her and told them I have to think about moving in. After few hours the friend called me asking if I talked with a landlord and I told her the true. She told me threw away our agreement but stated that it changes nothing and I can still move in. Which I think is weird and told her I have to think about it. Now the earliest date I could move in is the 1st of October but I really doubt everything now. I never told her I won't move in but also she never really asked again. I'm still kinda dissapointed in her behaviour and find it hard to trust her. But I feel bad because if don't move in in October she would have to pay another month of the notice. Am I the asshole for not moving in?
