AITA for not wanting to get a normal job while my mother wants me to?

Post Body

So I graduated from college a few years ago but already knew just from looking at places hiring in my field of study (Web and Graphic Design), I hadn't learned enough to be hired. And I had been looking for a job for like 5 years now, applied like crazy, and never got hired. Even simple clerical or admin jobs wouldn't take me! My mother, who works a city job (and still doing so from home due to COVID), has been sending me applications for city jobs "hiring" - there has actually a hiring freeze going on even before the lockdown - and I've gotten nothing back from anything I've applied from. But she's still persistent.

So now she's told me about 2 new jobs - both clerical admin jobs - to apply for a test to hopefully get either job. The thing is I recently just started working a job. I basically work for a company called Shipt where I shop for and deliver various lists of items for any orders I take. I do it all of this alone and via walking or public transportations...in the blazing sun and the occasional downpour. I like this job because I make my own hours, I'm working hard and putting my body through physical hell to fulfill every order, and I enjoy it. Plus before now, I've made a little pocket change doing voice acting work as well as my YouTube channel.

She asked me if I'm doing early orders tomorrow because tomorrow is the last day to apply for the test. I generally don't want to be chained to a desk because there are times I'm too antsy and I'll be bored out of my brain! What I'm doing now kinda helps to get rind of my erratic excess energy. But at the same time, I understand where my mother is coming from as I don't have any form of benefits and I do need that in case (God forbid) something happens to me. She also said that Shipt is only "popular because of COVID" which isn't true as I've seen posts of people who say they've been doing this for years before COVID and have done very well for themselves.

So TL;DR: am I the asshole for not wanting a regular 9-5 job while my mother is pushing me to for my own good????
