So one of my friends (I'll call him James) from high school moved to my area to get his master's. I invited him over the Friday after I had found out he was living there now, we drank and watched movies with my gf and he stayed the night, which I told him was fine because I knew we'd be drinking, in the morning I ordered us all bagels. He then stayed that whole day and I had to order food because he didn't have Uber eats or any other food delivery app, and he also stated the next day till after dinner

During these days he would get annoyed when we watched a show for to long and if he wasn't doing well in the co-op games we were playing. He was showing us a racist/sexist older British comedy (it has one of the actors from Monty Python if you're familiar with that genre of shows) these videos were quite obviously making my gf uncomfortable and he didn't want to turn it off when she asked him to.

We also weren't expecting him to stay for the whole weekend and we also didn't really try and usher him out. Since then he's been messaging me about 1-2 times a day(usually around 8 or 9 o'clock) I work during the week early in the morning and I've told him this but it doesn't seem to phase him. I have hung out with him since then but it gets annoying how often he asks so I usually make up excuses on the weekends (i.e going to a friend's place, going to my gf's dad's house for a weekend) not all of them were lies but it was about 50/50. He gets annoyed when I tell him I have other plans. Saying stuff like "ah come on" "why not for just a bit" "you don't have to drink a lot" (if asking me if I want to go to a bar which he even asks on weekdays which I told him I don't drink if I have work in the morning)

I understand that he's still new to the area and doesn't have friends here yet but my gf and I aren't really the kind of people that go out a lot, we binge watch a lot of TV shows and I just don't really feel like we have much in common anymore from high school. He has a hard time making friends so I feel a little bad that I've been avoiding hanging out with him so AITA?
