AITA for helping my sister keep her relationship a secret?

So this just happened a few days ago and the aftermath is still something where I don’t know what to do. Some background, I come from a very Chinese family but we live in Australia. All my life I’ve been told to look out for my siblings because family is the one thing that never turns their back on you, although when I was going through a phase like this, my family, in my sense, turned their back on me a lot.

Now a few months ago, my sister met a guy through badminton social, it’s basically where you can go for 2 hours and play some badminton against anyone there. They hit it off pretty well and got to know each other, because as it turned out, they were both in their final year of high school, preparing for the state wide exam HSC.

Now because they had been talking for 2 months straight and studied with each other quite a bit, I guess they started dating a month ago. So there were a lot of pictures of cliche couple pictures and what not, but my parents found them a few days ago and just went ballistic, calling me the asshole for not being a better older brother and not letting them know immediately about the relationship. They’re threatening to go to the boyfriend’s school or house and confront him because they are convinced that he is the cause of her grades slipping recently.

My sister and I are quite close, which is why I’d keep her secrets and she’d keep mine but I can’t stop thinking if I was the asshole for not immediately letting our parents know. So am I the asshole?
