AITA for telling my wife she needs cosmetic surgery to be attractive to me?
Post Body

For some context, I (M31) was having a discussion with my pregnant wife (22F) regarding our soon-to-be born daughter getting her ears pierced. She told me she discussed it with her coworkers and is planning on getting them pierced as soon as possible when the baby is born. I told her this really didn’t sit right with me, as i didn’t see the point in purposefully inflicting pain onto our child for cosmetic or vanity reasons as well as a baby cannot give consent. She has no cultural reason to do this, and the only reason she could give me is because she wanted to. I showed her examples of people saying it’s better to wait, as it had created fond memories later on or the stud itself was incorrectly placed / grew wrong by having it done when they were a baby. Her attitude was completely dismissive and she said since we’re having a girl she can do what she wants, if we were having a boy i’d be able to make the decisions. This pushed me over the edge and i responded that in order for me to find her attractive again she’d have to get cosmetic surgery, even though I’ve always told her i loved her natural looks and never ever would want that. She flew into a rage screaming for me to get out. I admit i said it out of anger, but i felt like i needed to say something out of a need to protect my child. AITA for this??
