My oldeat stepson, who i love a lot and am very close to, always hated crypto and was very vocal about it. None of our other 4 children (2 mine and 3 my husbands) had any input on the crypto.
About 8 years ago, when ETH was about $200 I bought all the kids who didn't despise crypto an ETH and told them I was holding it for their graduation present when that time comes. He had just graduated, and very adamantly refused that he would ever want or use crypto. We did get him a graduation gift that cost more than we spent on the ETH. I asked if he would be bitter in the future if ETH became worth thousands. He said it was all a scam and he would refuse to use it even if i did get him one.
Now all the kids (including my nephews who are huge crypto enthusiasts) have graduated and gotten their ETH (worth $4,000 today), and my stepson isn't complaining about not getting one, but his blood siblings think I'm an asshole for not giving him one like gave everyone else.
I do have extra ETH and I could spare one for him, but we already gave him the graduation gift he wanted 8 years ago. AITA if I dont give him a $4,000 present like all the other kids recieved for their graduation?
