So, I [25M] was going home from work after a long day. My work revolves around lab equipment and i often work in hospitals, which was also the case here. I then wanted to take a bus to the next train station to catch my ride home.
So, there i was wearing my headset, waiting for the bus. The bus arrives on time, i enter, show my ticket and move on to get a seat. Apparently i overheard the busdriver greeting me (noise cancelling headphones). When i moved on, he reached out to me, tapped my shoulder and told me that it was very impolite to ignore your driver. I was just tired and he also wasn't wrong so i apologized, greeted him and went to my seat.
At the next station, the driver made an announcement about how happy he wishes everyone a nice evening, even to the young man with the headphones who doesn't think it's necessary to greet people.
Thats where i got kinda pissed, like why does he have to make such a big thing out of this. He obviously even saw me wearing headphones. Anyway, as i left the bus i went over to him, apologized to him again and told him how sorry i was to not greet him and that it was just because i was super tired since my sister passed away in the hospital the night before. That wasn't true of course, i just wanted to show him that its not a good move to continuesly judge a passenger, especially when you picked him up at a hospital.
He was super sorry and kept apologizing so i just told him that its okay and went away.
Im not sure if i overreacting there, AITA? It happend in southern Germany if that matters to anyone.
