One day after moving out and having a lot of money I decided to get my first snake a ball python. Well as the years went by I got more and more 1 superdwarf reticulated python and one boa, now I don't do socal media and never posted about my snakes bc of my family. About 4.5 years later I was able to get one of my dream snakes a green African hairy bush viper and yes it is highly venomous but after years of research and handling with my false water cobra I felt that I was ready for one. I converted my guest room into my reptile room and that was that until Christmas rolled around. My mom who's extremely afraid of snakes called and my wife answered the phone unfortunately she didn't know about the fear my mom had. When my wife answered my mom dropped the bomb that the hole family was coming to visit and she wanted to know if the guest room will be ready, my wife not knowing told her that the guest room is my reptile room and housed a very deadly snake along with others. My mom flipped and yelled at my wife to get me and we argued about the snakes demanding I sell them or worse put them down or she will refuse to visit I told her that's not fair on me and the snakes are in a locked room and no body but me can get in but that wasn't enough, she then proposed i pay for a hotel and I said no way why not host Christmas at her house. She shoot back with I already promised the hole family I'd be hosting, I then told her I will not be hosting or getting rid of snakes and you can cancel Christmas am I the asshole?
