I have been driving for Uber over 9 years. Last night a rider threw up in my car on a shared ride, with other riders in the car.
This was after 130 am. I had to drop the other passengers to their respective destinations driving with the unpleasant smell. Had to keep apologizing to the passengers.
I reported to Uber and now they want me to provide a receipt for professional cleaning service for something I cleaned myself. It is my personal car.
I told them that at that time of night I am not going to find any place open where you will get a car "professionally cleaned" of body fluid.
I have multiple pictures of the damage done. It was a very gross experience cleaning up.
Why are we as drivers been given a run around for something riders do? I am not asking for a million dollars. Just compensate me for time spent cleaning up and the use of my cleaning materials that I had to purchase.
It is already very distasteful that I have to clean the mess of a grown up person who did not know when to stop drinking.
The exploitation continues...
