Most valuable "useless" item
Post Body

I was discussing the show with my wife and she wondered how the option to bring a non practical item could change the game. Meaning if someone had something non practical to occupy their time I think it would go along way to helping the psychological side of the show. For instance if you had a multi-language dictionary and were trying to learn French while you were in the woods it could help you not think about the loneliness. Now I doubt that would be a big enough advantage to take the place of one of your 10 items but its an interesting thought.

If in addition to their 10 practical items the contestants got 1 non-practical item what things would be best?

Seconded, except the publishing part. That's a little invasive.
