(Update: S1 has gotten better. I’m on ep 9 now and have really grown to like Alan and the guy who made the canoe. Alan was the one I said in the original post that could hold up with S7 cast. But yes, S1 does get better.)
I think I’ve done this wrong. Just randomly clicked on Alone S7 on Netflix (it’s the only season they have), watched the first episode and immediately proceeded to binge the f out of it. Amazing show. Then found a bunch of interviews of the contestants on YouTube, couldn’t get enough of those people.
So, I decided to start the series on S1 and oh my god the contestants are such noobs compared to S7. Like a night and day difference. There’s like one, maybe two, guys on S1 who would even come close to fitting in with the amazing S7 crew. People are tapping so fast that half the season has been the same length as half an episode of S7 (about 5 days).
The moral: I should’ve started with the early seasons, it appears, because S7 has spoiled me on quality.
