Zyrtec Withdrawal- Unbearable
Post Body

I’ve been taking Zyrtec for about 2 years- everyday to help my breathing and allergy problems. It’s truly helped me so much, to the point where I don’t need inhalers or any other allergy meds except the occasional nose spray.

Last week my allergist suggested I redo my allergy testing, but that I would need to go off antihistamines 5 days prior.

I have never EVER experienced the hell that is Zyrtec withdrawal. I have not slept more than 3 hours a night, my body is itchy from head to toe- but an insatiable itch- that won’t stop. It feels like I’m being covered in little pins and needles and the occasional fire ant. I’m not sure how long this lasts or if I’m the only one- but this doesn’t go away soon idk what I’ll do.

Is anyone aware of something i can take to help that isn’t an antihistamine? I don’t want to negate even my few days progress but this is hell on EARTH. TIA
