So essentially 9 times out of 10 when I eat I get a horrible sensation in my throat like it's closing up, accompanied by shortness of breath.
I've made myself so paranoid my throat is closing up it's becoming a real problem. I've lost 20kg in 2 months and this is an issue I had a few years ago until allergy tests disproved it (both blood and skin prick) and I'd been fine until recently.
My doctor thinks it's GERD as I get it in the middle of the night too. My doctor gave me a peak flow meter to use whenever I expirience these feelings to prove my throat isn't closing... is this legit or am I being fobbed off as they think I'm just a drama queen?
TL;DR: Would a peak flow meter tell me if my airway was closing?
